People and Presentations

We live in an era where humans and their inventions live harmoniously. Actually, men have used these inventions to make their lives easier and more interesting. One application of this is in the way one will deliver their speeches or reports.

Although this affects a small portion of the population, the help of projectors is undeniably significant. But, you need to use this technology to your advantage, make it make your presentation better. Here are the ways on how you can do this, at the same time; these are helpful to avoid presentation disasters that are unfortunately very common.

Hold your position. You can stand on either side of your presentation, whichever will be comfortable for you. But, there might be some individuals who will argue that you need to stand at the left side. This way your audience will have an easier time reading the text from left to right. Then, they can also go back at looking at you with more ease.

The position will be reversed for those who are reading from right to left. So, you need to stand at the right side.

Let your presentation shine, but don’t let it outshine you. You can use fancy designs and animations to make your presentation more interesting. This can also be used to wake up your audience when they feel like dozing off. However, a better way wherein you can make your audience become interested in your presentation will generally depend on you, the presenter. You need to be as fancy and as animated, if not more than, your presentation.

Distance + size = attention, wherein the distance will be the correct amount of space from your audience and the projection film, the size will be the resulting size of the projection (which needs to be visible and readable), and attention will be the amount of interest your audience will have with your presentation.

Be creative, be more. Aside from making the content of your presentation more than what is expected in terms of quality, you also need to add a few tricks. One, you can try using a touch film and touch screens which can make you look more sophisticated.

Stay on the right direction. When you are talking in front of an audience, it is very easy to lose your concentration, especially when you are nervous. So, you need to eliminate as many distractions as you can.  Some of the distractions that are within your power to control will be the set up. You need to make sure that everything is where they should be so that will not be bothered while you are in the middle of your speech.

Also, if you have screensavers in the computer that you are using for the presentation, you might want to turn them off first. So even though you have been talking for a long time without changing slides, your screensaver will not appear. This can sidetrack you and make you lose your train of thought.

Practice may not make you perfect, but it will make you better. So, practice, practice, and practice.
